Music has always needed its outsiders and agitators. People who simultaneously remind people that there is more to life than mainstream thought and consensus and who also act to subvert the form and, in doing so, move things towards a brighter future. Psyclo is just such an artist.
It is easy to make an argument that change only comes from within. That may be the case but isn’t it more fun to pull the rug away from under the feet of convention and establishment? Again, something that Psyclo never shies away from.
Her brand of alternative pop, subverted dance and warped rock makes for a most exciting proposition. These heady blends produce music that feels slightly familiar yet fresh, adventurous, and unique. And with song titles to her name, such as Freaks and Volatile, you can see that she isn’t afraid to fly the flag for the outsider and the off-beat, the lost and the forgotten.
Now, with a full-length album, Shxffle, about to drop, we will see the whole musical array of her music and appreciate the full spectrum of sound and subject that she navigates. It is going to be something special to behold.
